Secondary/primary blend ZDDP combines two ZDDP types to balance their strengths. Secondary ZDDP decomposes at lower temperatures, giving faster anti-wear tribofilm formation for quick wear protection; primary ZDDP is more thermally stable for high-temperature durability. The blend delivers a tuned balance of rapid anti-wear response and thermal stability, well suited to engine oils that need both quick protection at start-up and durability at operating temperature.
