Dimethylsiloxane Ester Antifoam
Dimethylsiloxane ester antifoam — a modified silicone antifoam balancing strong foam control with improved air release, for oils where both properties matter.
The modified silicone for foam control with better air release
Standard silicone antifoam can slow air release. Modifying the siloxane with ester groups improves air release while retaining strong foam control — a better balance for many oils.
Dimethylsiloxane ester antifoam is a modified silicone in which ester groups are introduced onto the siloxane structure. This modification tunes the antifoam's solubility and surface behaviour to improve air release compared with conventional PDMS, while retaining strong surface foam control. It is valuable where both fast air release and foam control matter — such as hydraulic and circulating oils — giving a better balance than standard silicone without going fully silicone-free. It is part of the antifoam agents range and sits between PDMS and silicone-free types.
