Product Overview

The high-MW dispersant for the heaviest soot loads

Poly-succinimide dispersants use high-molecular-weight structures with multiple couplings to deliver the maximum dispersancy needed for the heavy soot loads of modern diesel engines.

PIB poly-succinimide is a high-molecular-weight ashless dispersant built with multiple succinimide couplings for maximum dispersancy. It is the premier dispersant for heavy-duty diesel engine oils, where exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) produces heavy soot that must be kept finely dispersed to prevent soot-induced viscosity increase, wear and deposits. Its high molecular weight and multiple anchoring points give it superior soot-carrying capacity, making it the defining soot-control additive of modern HDDO. It is part of the ashless dispersant family and central to diesel engine oil formulation.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is PIB poly-succinimide used for?
PIB poly-succinimide is a high-molecular-weight ashless dispersant used mainly in heavy-duty diesel engine oils to control heavy soot. Its high MW and multiple couplings give maximum dispersancy, keeping EGR soot finely suspended to prevent soot-induced viscosity increase, wear and deposits. It is the premier soot-control dispersant for modern HDDO.
Why do diesel oils need high-MW poly-succinimide?
Diesel engines with exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) generate large soot loads. Without strong dispersancy, soot agglomerates and dramatically thickens the oil. High-MW poly-succinimide has superior soot-carrying capacity, keeping soot finely dispersed — which is why it is the defining soot-control additive for heavy-duty diesel oils. See diesel engine oil additives.
How does poly-succinimide differ from bis-succinimide?
Bis-succinimide has two PIB chains and is the versatile workhorse dispersant. Poly-succinimide uses high-molecular-weight structures with multiple couplings for even higher dispersancy, targeted at the heaviest soot loads of modern diesel engines. Diesel oils often use poly types for soot control; passenger car oils more often use bis. See PIB bis-succinimide.
What is soot-induced viscosity increase?
When diesel soot is not kept dispersed, it agglomerates into larger particles that thicken the oil — soot-induced viscosity increase. This can push the oil out of grade, increase wear and cause deposits. High-MW poly-succinimide prevents this by holding soot in fine suspension, which is one of the defining performance tests for heavy-duty diesel oils.
Can Sinolook provide TDS, MSDS and COA?
Yes. TDS, MSDS (GHS-format SDS) and a batch-specific COA are provided for every grade in English or Chinese. Sinolook supplies PIB poly-succinimide in drum, IBC, flexitank and ISO tank quantities to over 60 countries. Email sales@sinolook.com or message us on WhatsApp.
